ITANAGAR, Apr 25: The Capital Police on Wednesday arrested a father and his son for their alleged involvement in a murder case, which took place in Chimpu area on April 23 last.
The incident occurred at around 7.30 PM at Govt middle school-cum-children’s park at IRBn HQs, wherein Manish Kumar was brutally attacked by Mohan Kumar Roy (38) and his son, which was a conflict with law, police sources said.
A manhunt was launched on receiving an FIR based on the statement of complainant and other witnesses which led to arrest of absconding father (in picture) and son, the sources said, adding Roy was sent to police remand and his son, being a minor, has been sent to an observation home.
It was found during investigation and interrogation that the accused had used offensive weapons. The probe prima facie revealed that the motive behind the crime was due to an alleged physical relation of the deceased with daughter of accused three years ago, police sources said, adding further probe is on.
